For the third year in a row, Austin Hill won the NASCAR Xfinity Series United Rentals 300 race at Daytona International Speedway on Monday night.
It was the seventh victory for Hill, driver of the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro. Hill had been involved in a crash early in the race and had to come from the back of the field several times due to problems on pit road.
After the ninth caution with three laps remaining, Chandler Smith jumped ahead of Jordan Anderson and took the lead.
Anderson regained the lead on the same lap and then Hill passed Anderson with two laps to go and held on the rest of the way even after another crash occurred near the back of the field on the final lap. The caution flag never appeared again after that accident.
The race was moved from Sunday to Monday night due to inclement weather and was held after the Daytona 500.
